APPROACH

How a partnership works.

CEJ Capital holds minority stakes in companies that EVRT has helped to scale. Each stake is earned through the work.

HOW A PARTNERSHIP STARTS

Every partnership starts as EVRT work. A founder brings EVRT a company that has outgrown the way it is run, and EVRT takes on the job of building what is missing.

CEJ Capital comes in through that work. Where it makes sense for both sides, we take a minority stake in the company, typically 10–30%, or a royalty arrangement. Either is earned mainly through the work, and sometimes alongside capital.

None of this involves outside money. CEJ Capital invests only the capital of its owner and affiliates, so there is no fund to raise and nobody else’s money to place.

WHAT WE BUILD IN THE FIRST 90 DAYS

The first 90 days are hands-on. Through EVRT we build what the company needs to scale: its systems, its software, its pricing and its operations.

We start where the friction is. EVRT maps how the company runs and removes the steps that cost it time and margin. Then it puts in dashboards that show how the business is doing, and automation for the work no one should do by hand.

Everything we put in is built for the founder’s team to run. They learn each system as it goes in and take it over as it settles. At the end of the 90 days, the company runs on its own systems, not on us.

HOW WE STAY INVOLVED

The work does not stop when the first 90 days are over. EVRT stays with the company as it grows, and the infrastructure grows with it.

Our stake is a minority one. We don’t take control positions and we don’t run the company. The founder does.

A vendor finishes a job and moves on. We stay for as long as we hold the stake.

HOW IT ENDS

It doesn’t, unless the founder sells. We hold what we earn.

There is no fund behind CEJ Capital, so no fund term sets a date by which a stake has to be sold.

If a founder decides to sell the company, we sell alongside them.
